| dc.description.abstract | Clinical debriefs in healthcare have been shown to enhance self-awareness, reflection, psychological safety, and overall staff performance. The study of clinical debriefs has largely centred on medical, nursing populations and simulation settings. Currently, social work clinical educators supervising students do not have an established forum outside of their 1:1 clinical supervision to discuss supervision of students. As the evidence of peer debriefs has been shown to provide multiple benefits, peer debriefs were introduced for social work clinical educators during student placements at a large public healthcare service. The purpose of introducing peer debriefs is to provide a forum to support social work clinical educators in reflective practice, emotional well-being and in their role supporting students on placement. | - |
