Hepatitis B is a major global pandemic affecting over 296 million people, with significant chronic disease burden. In Australia, an estimated 225,000 people live with chronic hepatitis B, with many unaware of their status. Hepatitis B vaccination is highly effective; however, 5–15% of individuals fail to achieve seroconversion following a complete vaccine series. Non-response is more common among older adults, males, and immunocompromised individuals. Immunocompromised populations are not only at increased risk of acquiring HBV but also tend to have reduced vaccine efficacy. Non-Responder is defined as a failure to develop protective anti-HBs after two complete series, 4 – 8 weeks after last dose. Anti-HBs titre <10 mIU/mL. Traditional Non-Responder Vaccine Schedules include: A single booster dose; repeat full 3-dose series; double dose full course; intradermal course with anti-HBs serology 4- 8 weeks following schedule. Project Aim; To evaluate the effectiveness of using a 2 dose Twinrix vaccine (Hepatitis A+B) to boost Hepatitis B response, leveraging Hepatitis A as an adjuvant to enhance immunogenicity. The projects initial aim is 100 immunocompromised patients.-
