Precision medicine is offered at Monash Children’s Cancer Centre (MCCC) as part of the ZERO2 project. Professional Genetic Counsellor funding for one day per week provides crucial but limited support for germline testing. Genomic testing is the basis for precision medicine; however, it is well documented that genomic education is still lacking in medical training. Genomic testing can return results which are not only relevant to current medical care but also future care, and the care of other family members. Wider research has demonstrated that consumers should be offered the opportunity to participate in research as part of high-quality care. Studies investigating genomic testing offered outside of clinical genetics shows challenges are significant and the best approach has not yet been established. Precision medicine in oncology is moving into standard of care.-
