Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an important type of medical imaging frequently used in paediatric care. Successful image acquisition needs children to enter and lay still in a narrow tunnel for 30-60 minutes. This environment can be anxiety provoking for children, and some children will refuse to lie on the magnetic resonance imaging table.
