There is one previous report of human infection, with B. pyogenes bacteremia following a cat bite (Madsen 2011). We report seven severe human infections where B. pyogenes was identified by Bruker matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDTI-TOF MS), but not by VITEK MS and was misidentified by VITEK ANC card.Copyright © 2016 | DOI: | http://monash.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.anaerobe.2016.10.008 | PubMed URL: | 27771394 [http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=27771394] | ISSN: | 1075-9964 | URI: | https://repository.monashhealth.org/monashhealthjspui/handle/1/39811 | Type: | Article |
