Abstract: Currently in Australia, there are 1854 children under the age of 18 with cystic fibrosis. (Australia CF data registry, 2019). Students spend 205 days a year at school with their educators. As school is such a big part of their lives it is vital that educators understand the needs of their students. Monash Children’s Hospital School together with Monash Health, The Royal Children’s Hospital and Cystic Fibrosis Community Care, identified a gap in the knowledge of educators and professional development available to them. We felt that it was part of our responsibility to provide education for ourpatients’ educators about cystic fibrosis and the health journey their students are on. Educators from early childhood education, state, independent and catholic primary and secondary schools were invited to particpate in a 3 part education series about cystic fibrosis.
