More than an image: learning from a breast cancer survivor: the power of lived experience in radiology

Abstract

Healthcare education often focuses on clinical knowledge and imaging techniques. However, opportunities to ehar directly from patients about their experiences with diagnosis, imaging, and treatment are limited. During planning for the Women's Health Imaging Workshop, the Imaging Education Team identified an opportunity to strenghen consumer participation by including a patient perspective.
