Date of Publication: October 2018. | Journal: | PACE - Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology | Abstract: | A 62-year-old male presented to his treating cardiologist for routine interrogation of his implantable cardiac defibrillator on the background of severe ischemic cardiomyopathy and end-stage kidney disease on hemodialysis. The device log revealed multiple paroxysms of atrial fibrillation; however, upon scrutinizing these episodes it was evident that they always corresponded to episodes of hemodialysis while dialyzing through a chronic dialysis catheter, but not while dialyzing via an arteriovenous fistula. We report the novel finding of inappropriate sensing of current leak from the catheter by a lead with a floating atrial dipole.Copyright © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. | DOI: | http://monash.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1111/pace.13418 | ORCID: | Verma, Kunal Pradip; ORCID: http://orcid.org/0000-0002-0712-1011 | PubMed URL: | 29924894 [http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=29924894] | ISSN: | 0147-8389 | URI: | https://repository.monashhealth.org/monashhealthjspui/handle/1/37096 | Type: | Article | Type of Clinical Study or Trial: | Case series or case report |
