dc.description.abstract | Objective: The incidence of congenital Mullerian horn abnormalities ranges from 0.002-3.2% in the literature. A functioning rudimentary horn with a patent fallopian tube can result in endometriosis due to retrograde menstruation. In rare circumstances, pregnancies can occur in the rudimentary horn due to migrating spermatozoa. Design(s): A case report. Setting(s): Center for endoscopy and endometriosis surgery. Patient(s): We present the case of 28 year old nulligravid woman who initially presented with dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia. A COGU ultrasound demonstrated a left rudimentary uterine horn and a left endometrioma. Intervention(s): The patient underwent a laparoscopic excision of left uterine horn and excision of endometriosis. Measurements/Results: Results to be presented. Conclusion(s): This video outlines a surgical approach to excision of a rudimentary horn. This treatment is recommended when the rudimentary horn is first diagnosed due to the complications described.Copyright © 2018 | en |
