Date of Publication: November - December 2018. | Abstract: | Objective: The incidence of congenital Mullerian horn abnormalities ranges from 0.002-3.2% in the literature. A functioning rudimentary horn with a patent fallopian tube can result in endometriosis due to retrograde menstruation. In rare circumstances, pregnancies can occur in the rudimentary horn due to migrating spermatozoa. Design(s): A case report. Setting(s): Center for endoscopy and endometriosis surgery. Patient(s): We present the case of 28 year old nulligravid woman who initially presented with dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia. A COGU ultrasound demonstrated a left rudimentary uterine horn and a left endometrioma. Intervention(s): The patient underwent a laparoscopic excision of left uterine horn and excision of endometriosis. Measurements/Results: Results to be presented. Conclusion(s): This video outlines a surgical approach to excision of a rudimentary horn. This treatment is recommended when the rudimentary horn is first diagnosed due to the complications described.Copyright © 2018 | Conference Start Date: | 2018-09-11 | Conference End Date: | 2018-09-15 | DOI: | http://monash.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.jmig.2018.09.734 | ISSN: | 1553-4650 | URI: | https://repository.monashhealth.org/monashhealthjspui/handle/1/37864 | Type: | Conference Abstract | Subjects: | diagnosis dysmenorrhea endometriosis endometrium tumor endoscopy excision female human human cell menorrhagia nulligravida surgery *uterus horn videorecording conference abstract ultrasound surgical approach adult case report clinical article complication surgery surgical approach ultrasound *uterus horn videorecording female excision endoscopy endometrium tumor endometriosis human diagnosis complication dysmenorrhea human cell menorrhagia nulligravida clinical article case report adult |
