Abstract: Many women of ATSI heritage live with entrenched disadvantage of many kinds, stemming ultimately from dispossession and displacement, with forced child removal occurring across generations to this day in many women's lives. It is important to bring a culturally informed perspective to the care of ATSI women in pregnancy to ensure that they and their children benefit from the systems in place to care for women and children in our society, without feeling stigmatised or disregarded.
